Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Overview #

Where Is It? is designed with your privacy in mind. The app does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data with the developer or any third party.

Data Stored on Your Device and Synced via iCloud #

All data you enter into Where Is It? (including item names, borrower names, photos, and dates) is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework, and automatically synced across your own devices using your private iCloud account (Apple’s CloudKit service). This data is stored in your own private iCloud database and is never accessible to the developer or shared with anyone else.

If you’d prefer your data to stay only on the device it was entered on, you can disable iCloud sync for the app in your device’s Settings.

Contacts #

Where Is It? requests access to your contacts solely to let you select a borrower when adding or editing an item. Contact data is only read at the point of selection. The borrower’s name and photo are saved with the item and, like all your item data, sync to your own private iCloud account. This data is never accessible to the developer or transmitted anywhere outside of your iCloud account.

Photos #

Where Is It? requests access to your photo library solely to let you attach photos to items. Photo data is saved with the item and, like all your item data, syncs to your own private iCloud account. This data is never accessible to the developer or transmitted anywhere outside of your iCloud account.

Notifications #

Where Is It? uses local notifications to remind you when items are overdue. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external servers.

Analytics #

Where Is It? collects anonymous, non-identifiable usage statistics via TelemetryDeck to help improve the app. No personal data is collected. All signals are anonymised before leaving your device and cannot be traced back to you. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-first analytics platform. You can read their privacy policy at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

Third-Party Services #

Other than TelemetryDeck (described above), Where Is It? does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or advertising networks.

Children’s Privacy #

Where Is It? does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
